Some uplifting videos, with amazingly lively and unbelievably interesting stats:

In order to remain psychologically stable in these times ... a certain dose of Hans Rosling is in order ;-)

And here is Hans Rosling with his "River of Myth" video tackling the AIDS 'epidemic:

This will help built bridges between opposing points of view ... hopefully!

Anthony Watts of the highly acclaimed blog http://wattsupwiththat.com/ highly recommends this video.
And I as an agriculturalist (first training) agree TOTALLY.
A MUST WATCH (22:20min.):
Those of you who would want to understand more of the details here is a 1hr. lecture by him:

Utopias

All BIG utopias had a big attraction to the young and vice versa. Fascists, Nazis, Communists, islamo-fascists and YES also the green movement early on established their youth organizations. WHY? Well there you can harvest easily manipulable folk who are gullible, inexperienced in life and who still are convinced they can change the world and turn it upside down. In their parlance it would of course be: To make a better world for the future.

I always get the creeps when I hear Utopians.

WHY? Because all big CHANGES and revolutions ultimately managed to kill people.

THAT is why I DETEST all grand plans and ideas (Utopias), as they are ultimately enslaving the individual for the GREATER GOOD.

Only with compromise, negotiations and good will has mankind always found a way to better our lot. A natural way - evolving out of the sum of our INDIVIDUAL interactions. There is a better way - But it is NEVER a QUICK-FIX.

"How Anti-Semitism Prevents Peace"

This is an extremely IMPOTANT article:
"How Anti-Semitism Prevents Peace"
written by David Patterson in the 'Middle East Quarterly'
Summer 2011

Conclusion [of the article]

"Politicians who are entrusted with securing the peace in the Middle East fail to see reality. Inasmuch as negotiators will not name the evil they confront, they remain blind to it. Enjoying the complicity of the media, leaders in the Obama administration and elsewhere refuse to refer to Islamist fascists as either Islamists or as fascists.

Such a position reflects an inexcusable, willful ignorance of the history, religion, culture, and languages that go into the making of modern jihadism. What must be understood above all is this: Hamas and Fatah have developed a theological and ideological justification that precludes any negotiations that would lead to a lasting peace with a Jewish state. At best, one can expect an application of the PLO's phased strategy, which gives the illusion of peace without renouncing its goal of Jewish extermination.
Neither Hamas nor Fatah can agree in good faith to any peace with the Jews since in their eyes to do so would amount to treason or apostasy or both. What then is to be done beyond naming the evil? Simply stated, Islamist jihadism must be eliminated, and given their ideological stances, neither Hamas nor Fatah can be a viable partner in peace; therefore, their removal from power is a prerequisite to any future for Israelis and Palestinians alike. Whether the present revolutionary turmoil sweeping the Arab world will produce such a result remains to be seen."

CERN Experiment Confirms Cosmic Rays Influence Cloud Seeds

Henrik Svensmark, Nir Shaviv and Jan Veizer are vindicated by an experiment conducted at CERN.

In case that is all too scientific to you or you prefer having it explained in an very good fashion, here are the links to the documentary:

/// AGW (also GoreBullwarming) proponents are seen running for the exits soon ... (let's hope)

And now some UPDATES:

Climate Alarm Debunked:
Mosquitoes ‘Disappearing’ In Some Parts Of Africa ??!!!?? It seems so ...
:-)

first let us go back some 4 years: Global Warming Increases Malaria, Dengue Fever Threat, UN Says

Now THIS: Mosquitoes 'disappearing' in some parts of Africa

Heh ....

It gets even better:
NASA study refutes claims of drought-driven declines in plant productivity, global food security
"Their analysis [old study by Zhao & Running] of satellite data is flawed because they included poor quality data and do not bother to test trends for statistically significance.
Our analyses [NASA study] of four different higher-quality MODIS satellite vegetation products that have been carefully filtered for data corruption show no statistically significant trends over 85% of the global vegetated lands."
Poor quality data and poor scientific and statistical methods seem to be the backbone of the main-stream AGW (Anthropogenic (man-made) global warming) proponents it seems.

But more and more studies appear that challenge the orthodoxy, not yet in the MSM but it seems to get there.

Why the Peaceful Majority is Irrelevant

This posting was written by Paul E. Marek in Feb. 2006. He is a Canadian blogger and op-ed commentator best known for his widely reproduced essay, Why the Peaceful Majority is Irrelevant.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

I hereby repost it on the ground of the need of the public to know some basic facts and moral stand-points:

I used to know a man whose family were German aristocracy prior to World War Two. They owned a number of large industries and estates. I asked him how many German people were true Nazis, and the answer he gave has stuck with me and guided my attitude toward fanaticism ever since.

"
Very few people were true Nazis” he said, “but, many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools.

So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come.

My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.”

We are told again and again by “experts” and “talking heads” that Islam is the religion of peace, and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. - Although this unquantified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. -

It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam. The fact is, that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars world wide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. The hard quantifiable fact is, that the “peaceful majority” is the “silent majority” and it is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people. The Average Japanese individual prior to World War 2 was not a war mongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of Killing that included the systematic killing of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet. And, who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were “peace loving”.

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points.

Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by the fanatics.
Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.
Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up,
because like my friend from Germany, they will awake one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Bosnians, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others, have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.

As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts; the fanatics who threaten our way of life.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

The True Colors of the Admin

Well worth the read at PajamasMedia:

Obama’s Israel Ambush Backfires

President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s attack on Israel is failing spectacularly.

Most Israelis — especially those in the center and left — have rallied around Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. Judging by the media — especially television talk shows — Netanyahu’s popularity has soared following the rebuke from Hillary Clinton. Even those who usually berate him have come to his defense. American Jewish leaders and Congress are also pushing back against Clinton’s hysteria and Obama’s stern reprimands.

...

With a few Jewish advisors to protect him from charges of anti-Semitism, he may try for a brass ring in the Middle East merry-go-round.That would assume that voters are stupid. Many may be, but not enough.

A well-known columnist recently accused Israel of drunk-driving behavior. The drunk-with-power driver, however, is sitting in the White House.

Do read the whole article.

To me the admin showed it's true colors with Biden's Israel trip.
It is that new anti-Semitism of the progs.

The looming Health-Care atrocity vote

I am truly appalled at the tactics of 0's admin. He went down that slippery road that many vain-glorious and power hungry types have gone - towards tyranny.
I would never have thought that a US President would fall for that trap.
44 had all the warning signs sticking all around in his front yard and no one wanted to pick up the clues. Much less the MFMSM! They are just as culpable.

The character of Callahan ;-)

ErikTheRed voiced something a couple of days ago at a chat answering the question who and where I was from, he said:
Callahan23 is an American trapped in the body of a German.

That was exactly how I felt this noon when I was at a café and on our table a liberal/socialist discussion about social injustice, income distribution and the mean grip of the power hungry for ever more power without the normal population to be able to do anything about it, broke out. Yada, yada, yada ...

I was sooo sick and tired of this shit I was sitting there and virtually hung up on that talk. I didn't participate nor did I object to anything.
I am sick of those liberal/socialist loons and there is way too many of those around here for me to convince any otherwise.
Needless to say they will not be convinced of logic or reason.

Lessons to be learned from Greece

The citizens of a state like Washington should well heed the advice of a financially bankrupt country like Greece.
Greece has grown through decades of social and socialist ideas without the mere thought that something like the free market could do any good. The sense of entitlement has grown accordingly.

Those protesting students are nothing more than the spoiled brats of middle-class families who insist on their 'rights'. The society has been indoctrinated for so long now that virtually no one challenges their entitlement thinking or their destructive behavior. Of course they are frustrated that they don't have the same chances their fathers had when they entered the job market. But no one in that country puts into account that roughly one tenth of the population works for the state or for state run enterprises. No one sees the imbalance that someone has to pay up their salaries.

Greece is a failed state IMHO, don't let individual states of the union slide down that same slippery road.
The population of Washington state has to really wake up and vote for an entirely new set of political faces.

On the UN, Ban-Ki Moon and the pursuit of liberty

The secretary-general of the UN, Ban-Ki Moon seems to be the Neville Chamberlain of our times.
Kosh'sShadow replied: Yes, the way he won't say anything about what the "two states living side by side" would be. He just can't bring himself to say one is a Jewish state, can he?
The majorities in the UN won't let him. Pretty much a scum bag surrounded by a barf-bag, surrounded by a sack of manure.

That being said Ban isn't at all exonerated, he is part and parcel of this anti-Semitic shit-hole of the Useless Nations.
Free and democratic nations have the most to be afraid of by that organization. All the totalitarian, theocratic and nepotistic nations rule the house.

No small wonder the UN makes resolution after resolution condemning Israel while not mentioning such hell-holes as the Sudan or North Korea. To name only a few.

Shame on the lot of them and all those diplomats and the nations they represent who don't speak out against this evil discrepancy.

The Reformation and Climategate

Has anyone ever wondered about the stark similarities between Martin Luther and his confronting the indulgence sales being done by the Catholic church at the time which all started the reformation
with the AGW and Kyoto and now Copenhagen conferences bend on having whole states now pay for sins we all allegedly have committed?

Climategate might well be what at the time Martin Luther and his reformation was to the individual, Climategate could really turn out to be the reformation on a societal level.

I really do hope that this starts a mass movement of people who aren't bullied into surrendering more and more individual liberties to the state and/or super-national bodies.

Here again I see the only society able and already starting to revolt as the people of the US of America.
Tea-Parties anyone?
Let us all wait and see, but I wouldn't at all be surprised.
